TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 10 - LECTURE SERIES CELEBRATES THE JUBILEE YEAR OF ST. PAUL AND FEATURES REVEREND LAWRENCE BOADT, C.S.P.: Saint Joseph College celebrates the Jubilee Year of St. Paul with a springtime lecture series designed to reflect on Paul’s key messages and ways to apply them to contemporary life. “St. Paul is not a mere historical figure, but someone who has a message for us today,” said Pope Benedict XVI when he inaugurated the Pauline Jubilee Year last summer. Running from June, 2008 to June, 2009, the Jubilee commemorates the second millennium of Paul’s birth. On Tuesday, February 10 at 7:00 p.m. in the Crystal Room, Mercy Hall, Reverend Lawrence Boadt, C.S.P. will deliver the first lecture in this series entitled, “Coming to Know St. Paul: Ten Major Insights for Modern Spirituality.” Reverend Boadt, the publisher of Paulist Press, will guide a discussion that reflects on St. Paul’s understanding of a Life in Christ. He will also analyze important passages from Paul’s letters. The St. Paul Jubilee Lecture Series is free and open to the public. For further information, contact Ann Marie Caron, RSM, Ph.D., associate professor of Religious Studies, at 860.231.5378 or acaron@sjc.edu. (Snow date: Tuesday, February 17, 2009)
