HOLIDAY BREAK: As we look forward to the upcoming holiday season, Christmas break will be extended this year beyond those days offered as part of the Saint Joseph College benefit plan. The extended break will allow employees to relax and fully enjoy this joyous time with family and friends:

The College will close for the holidays after normal business hours on Wednesday, December 23, 2009. Operations resume Monday, January 4, 2010.

There are certain departments that must remain staffed during the holidays in order to provide essential services. Directors of these departments should develop a schedule of the employees who will be working and share the information with their supervisors, as well as notify Campus Safety of the work schedule and arrange for access to specific buildings that may be required.

Any non-exempt employees (hourly staff) who are required to work while the College is closed will receive holiday pay plus regular pay for the hours worked. Exempt employees (salaried staff) who are required to work during this period may receive alternative time off as agreed upon with their supervisor. This alternative time, however, must be used prior to the end of the fiscal year on June 30, 2010.

Best wishes for a wonderful holiday season! For further information or if you have questions, please see your supervisor.
