Sample Lesson Plans

 

Software Lesson

 

 

Create a lesson plan that integrates a software program into the curriculum.

Parts Of The Plan

*      Introduction

State the grade and subject, and explain how the software fits the unit of study.  Briefly describe the software.

*      Specific Objectives of the Lesson

List lesson objectives as student learning outcomes, for example, the student will be able to define 10 vocabulary words used in the…, list

3 comparisons between…, etc.

*      Instructional Materials

List all materials you and students need for the lesson plan.

*      Lesson Sequence

List and describe the lesson sequence, and include time allotments. The lesson can exceed more than one day.  Be sure to include follow up, such as homework.

*      Evaluation or Assessment

List and describe methods for assessing the learning outcomes based on stated objectives.

*      Supplement Materials

Create student-based instruction sheets, worksheets, homework assignment materials, and such to accompany the plan.  This might also include direction you create for helping students use the software.

*      Oral Presentation

Give a lively 10-minute presentation for the class describing your plan and demonstrating the software.  Keep us engaged. 

 

Evaluation Criteria

Written Lesson Plan: 70 %

*        Clarity of Introductions and Objectives: 15 %

*        Appropriateness and Clarity of: Lesson Sequence, Follow Up, Assessment, and Supplemental material:  40 %

Understanding of the Role of Technology to Meet Educational Objectives: 15 %

Oral Presentation: 30 %

*        Relevance of Presentation to the Audience 10 %

*        Effective Demonstration of Software 10 %

*        Effective Presentation Skills and Use of Handouts (Liveliness) 10 %
