“He's
one of the rising young actors of Hollywood, and that's the way
Matt Damon likes it. And, oh yeah, he writes, too. How he went about giving
a push to his acting career is a story in itself: Putting his unfinished
Harvard education to good use, he, with writing partner and fellow actor
Ben Affleck, developed one of his college writing assignments into a
script--Good Will Hunting. They shopped it around, fought for it, and won
the opportunity to star in a movie they wrote, to be filmed in their
hometown, Boston. Now they're on top
of the world--and the critics' lists.
We caught up with Matt on his car phone as he was driving across New York State where he talked
about the beginning of his Will Hunting journey. “
