Journal 9: Starting the Profile

Think of people who are part of the Saint Joseph College community who you have gotten to know since the start of school. These people should be employees of the College, such as a faculty or staff member, or a student in a leadership position. Make a list of these people. Which of the people would make a good subject for a paper? (Try to come up with five names.)

Now limit the list to three. For each, write what you now know about the person and what you would like to find out.

Review your notes and decide which person would be the most interesting for others to read about. Why did you select this person?

Think of places where you can go to observe the person and make a jot list of some of the questions you would consider asking the person.

Profiles frequently appear in magazines such as People as well as on television. Think of some profiles that you have read or seen. Who were they about, and what do you remember from the profiles?
