Getting to Know China
In this assignment your group will be given a topic to explore. To do this, you will be accessing a piece of software called Eyewitness-History of the World. This software allows you to hear, see, and read about all different topics about history from any time period you choose. You will be provided with a reference page to refresh your memory about the software features. Please feel free to use this at any time during this project. Your final product will be a presentation of your findings to the class, in any format you like.
The first step to completing this assignment is to use the software in order to access information about your topic. When doing this, try to take advantage of the different formats you saw during the demonstration (i.e., videos, oral readings, etc.). You are to select only the main ideas about your topic. If you have taken more than one page of notes on a topic, you have probably gone further than just the main ideas.
When you have finished obtaining all of the information you need from the software, your group will then need to decide how you would like to present the information to the class. You can choose any method you like. Some suggestions:
Before your presentation you will need to generate three quiz questions about your topic. They will be used on a quiz that will be given the day after the presentations are completed. This means that not only do you need to write quiz questions, but that you will need to take notes during the presentations so that you can study for the quiz.
You will be graded on the following:
(Did everyone contribute and work together as a team?)
(Are main ideas written down or were entire pages from the software program summarized)
(Is your presentation organized and presented in a clear manner?)
Your quiz grade will be counted as separate from your presentation grade.
Good luck and have fun!!!!!!!!
