Introduction
As instructors teaching college courses, we should strive to
make writing an enjoyable and worthwhile endeavor. At Saint Joseph College, writing is promoted by the many
ways in which instructors design their courses. There is no need for formalizing a
writing-intensive program for we already own a rich writing-intensive
curriculum. To continue in this
tradition, instructors embarking on teaching courses in a new first-year
seminar program for fall 2002 have committed themselves to including a strong
writing component. Resources for Teaching with Writing is
offered to help them in their efforts.
Hopefully with new contributions, Resources
for Teaching with Writing will evolve into a campus-wide effort,
including contributions from faculty, students and others.
