Introduction

You are visiting your favorite cousin who lives on a farm. She tells you that bats live in her barn. You have always loved to read about bats. You tell your cousin that your favorite book is Stellaluna, Janell Cannon. She says that her dad, Uncle Buck, thinks bats are a nuisance and he is trying to find a way to get rid of them. You have heard that bats can be helpful to people, but you are not sure how. When you return home you decide to become a bat scientist so that you can learn more about bats, and discover how bats are either helpful or harmful to humans!
