The Backpack Club is an extension of our existing preschool program. This full day option provides additional morning and afternoon hours to the preschool day. It also offers early care and education during school holidays and vacation weeks. Families can choose from an assortment of options, depending on their scheduling needs.

The morning session meets from 7:45 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. Children are offered preschool activities in the gym. The preschool afternoon session begins with a quiet rest for children who nap and "awake room" activities for those who do not. There are a planned activities, snack, stories and outdoor play each day. The afternoon sessions ends at 5:00 p.m.

GOOP
BUBBLES
HOMEMADE PLAYDOUGH

Ingredients
1 c. cornstarch
1 c. water

Start with the cornstarch and slowly add in the water (in a big pie plate, plastic tub, etc.) Find the most interesting consistency. Add more of either ingredient as needed. This makes a very interesting mixture. It can seem hard, but when you pick it up in your hand it oozes out.

Ingredients
1/2 c. Joy or Dawn detergent
2 Tbsp. glycerin (from Pharmacy)
5 c. clean water (more on dry days)

Bubbles are fun for all ages! Remember, you can blow bubbles with anything with a hole. Be creative ... big bubbles can be blown by threading straws together with yarn to make a square or triangle. Small bubbles can be blown through empty thread spools or with berry baskets.

Ingredients
1 c. flour
1/2 c. salt
2 tsp. cream of tartar (found in the spice section)
1 c. water with 1 tsp. food color
1 Tbsp. oil

Gradually stir the liquids into the dry ingredients. Stir over medium heat until the playdough forms a ball. Cook, then knead. Store in covered containers (margarine tubs work well)
